It has been said that good food—rich, sumptuous, sassy, deliciously decadent food—is an expression of love.
And I believe it.
There is something almost intimate about feeding someone. The choosing, the preparing, the tasting, the anticipation. A pinch of this. A little more of that. The quiet knowledge of what makes someone close their eyes after the first bite and simply say, Mmmmmm.
Sharing a recipe is its own kind of love language. It says, Here. This brought me pleasure. I want you to have some too. It is an offering—not just of ingredients and instructions, but of memory, comfort, indulgence, and joy.
And sharing food? Well, perhaps it is something even more.
It is unhurried. Sensory. Messy sometimes. Deliciously satisfying. It invites us to linger, to savor, to take our time. To give in to pleasure without apology.
Maybe that is why sharing a meal can feel a little like saying I love you—not because of what happens afterward, but because of what happens in the moment: the attention, the generosity, the anticipation, the appetite, and the beautiful surrender to enjoyment.
So yes.
Bring me the butter. The spice. The slow simmer. The warm bread. The rich sauce. The spicy salsa. The dessert we absolutely did not need but ordered anyway.
Bring me food made with intention and served with affection. Because if love can be spoken, perhaps sometimes it doesn’t need words at all.
Sometimes, it simply says: Sit down. I made this for you. Eat. Enjoy. Stay awhile.
And me?
Mmmmmm…
I’m all in for it.

Telling stories, sharing thoughts, and drinking coffee. A blend of fiction, reflection, and whatever’s brewing—one post at a time.
Stories have always traveled best by word of mouth. If one of these finds a place in your heart, I’d be honored if you’d drop a like or share it with someone else.
