There is a certain kind of person who can speak for an impressively long time without ever actually saying anything.
I may be one of them.
Not because there is nothing going on in my head. Quite the opposite. There are a million things going through my mind all the time. Nonstop. Thoughts about this and that, and sometimes absolutely nothing at all. Half-formed ideas. Questions with no intention of being answered. Memories that wander in, look around, and leave. Entire conversations that happen with people who aren’t even there.
It’s fascinating.
It also sucks.
Because occasionally all of that noise needs somewhere to go. And so, I speak. Or write. And I can feel it happening—that familiar momentum of having a tone. A voice. A rhythm. The words begin lining up and suddenly it sounds like I’m building toward something important.
But I’m not.
That’s the trick.
Sometimes there is no point hiding at the end of the paragraph. No revelation waiting patiently in the final sentence. No lesson. No grand realization. Just a person rambling with enough conviction to make it seem like they might know where they’re going.
I don’t always.
Sometimes I just like the sound of thoughts becoming sentences.
Maybe that’s what this is. Not an attempt to explain anything. Not a story. Not even particularly insightful. Just evidence that the mind can be incredibly busy without being particularly productive.
A million things going through my head.
All the time.
And somehow, after all of that, absolutely nothing to say.
Which, now that I think about it, is probably the most I’ve said about absolutely nothing.

Telling stories, sharing thoughts, and drinking coffee. A blend of fiction, reflection, and whatever’s brewing—one post at a time.
Stories have always traveled best by word of mouth. If one of these finds a place in your heart, I’d be honored if you’d drop a like or share it with someone else.
